Southampton may have to raise their offer for Dynamo Zagreb midfielder Marko Rog following reports a £6.8m bid has been rejected.
The Croatian champions are thought to be open to selling the 21-year-old but will not let him go on the cheap and Saints may have to pay over £10m to land him.
Rog, who joined from Hadjuk Split last summer, impressed for Croatia in Euro 2016 and has been linked with several Premier League sides, including Liverpool, in the past.
Saints boss Claude Puel is a fan of the box-to-box midfielder and may see him as the perfect repalcement at St Mary’s for Victor Wanyama following his move earlier this summer to Tottenham.
Rog still has another four years left on his Zagreb contract and has also attracted interest from Italian side Napoli and Spanish outfit Villarreal this summer.
