World record transfers: What is the most expensive deal if you used today’s inflation rates?

We could see the transfer record broken again when the 2017 summer window opens.

Kylian Mbappe, Cristiano Ronaldo, Harry Kane, Dele Alli are among the players who, if they ever did decide to leave their clubs, are likely to cost close to £100m.

Looking at the world record transfer fees from 1893 to the present day, and taking into account the ones considered to have broken major milestones, a historic inflation calculator has been used to calculate what players would cost today.
