“Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United stars are included in Gareth Southgate’s 23-man England squad”
The Three Lions are aiming to win their first World Cup in 52 years, with their last success coming in a 4-2 win over Germany all the way back in the 1966 final.
They will certainly be looking to improve on their previous showing in 2014, wherein Roy Hodgson’s side failed to make it out of the group stage.
And Gareth Southgate has revealed the 23 men he will be taking to Russia in pursuit of World Cup glory this summer – which includes Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham and Manchester City men.
Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere and West Ham goalkeeper Joe Hart are among the highest-profile absentees from Southgate’s squad.
The England boss has also named five reserves, with Burnley duo Tom Heaton and James Tarkowski, Bournemouth’s Lewis Cook, West Brom’s Jake Livermore and Liverpool’s Adam Lallana ready on standby in the case of a pullout.
