Chelsea winger Christian Atsu looks to be on the move again, with Newcastle reported to be closing in on a season-long loan deal.
Atsu arrived at Stamford Bridge in 2013 from Porto, putting pen-to-paper on a five-year contract, but has so far failed to make a single first-team appearance.
The Ghana international has had to settle for various loan spells over the past three seasons, having been shipped out to Vitesse, Everton, Bournemouth and Malaga.
Blues boss Antonio Conte has no place for the 24-year-old in his squad and it appears another temporary switch is on the cards, with St James’ Park the expected destination.
The Magpies are keen to add more strength to their squad before the transfer window shuts and they are rumoured to be close to completing a one-year loan deal.
Atsu would become Newcastle’s 10th summer signing, having already added Matt Ritchie, Dwight Gayle, Matz Sels, Grant Hanley, Ciaran Clarke, DeAndre Yedlin, Mohamed Diame, Isaac Hayden and Jesus Gamez to the roster.
