Marcus Rashford’s emergence at Man Utd means fellow striker James Wilson is set for another loan next season, sources for SiaS say.
Wilson, 20, had limited opportunities under former boss Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford and there are fears the same could happen following the arrival of Jose Mourinho.
Wilson spent the latter half of last season on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion, scoring five times in 24 appearances.
The England Under-21 starlet is still highly thought of inside United although he has clearly now been overtaken by Rashford’s incredible rise to prominence for both club and country in recent months.
It’s understood a number of clubs have already asked about taking Wilson on loan for the next campaign.
Mourinho is waiting to speak to the fringe members of his squad to let them know where they all stand but the inevitable arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic following Euro 2016 will further hamper the chances of Wilson and others forcing their way into his plans in the short term.
