Arsenal will allow Jack Wilshere to leave on loan in a bid to gain first-team action, surprise reports have claimed.
Wilshere missed most of last season due to injury and has been unable to force his way into Arsene Wenger’s XI so far this campaign, so a move could be on the cards.
Reports late on Monday evening suggested that a loan switch was now a possibility prior to the transfer window closing on Wednesday night, and there is sure to be a clamour for his signature.
The news came on the same day new England boss Sam Allardyce has warned Wilshere he needs to be a regular starter before returning to the national side.
“Jack just hasn’t had enough game time. Hopefully he will get that in the future at Arsenal,” said Allardyce. “If Jack Wilshere was playing every week for Arsenal he would be in the squad, but unfortunately he isn’t. It is game time for him and it has been few and far between because he has had too many injuries unfortunately.
“It is a question of game time and the contribution he is making to Arsenal and he is not doing that at the moment, so I left him out.”
It seems as though he will not get that action with the Gunners so a loan move could be on the cards before the transfer deadline passes.
