Wilshere will spend the season on loan with the Cherries in the hope he will stay injury free and finally be able to play some regular first-team football in the Premier League.

It is a huge season for Wilshere and Gunners boss Arsene Wenger will be pleased to know his Bournemouth counterpart Eddie Howe plans to ease him into regular action slowly at the Vitality Stadium.

Wilshere came on as a substitute during Saturday’s home win over West Brom and spoke himself earlier this week about a “plan” being in place with Howe, so the club see the best of him after a torrid few years of injuries.

Howe has now revealed he will gradually introduce Wilshere into his side, even though he admits it’s tempting to play him as much as possible.

Howe said: “With the outstanding quality he has, there’s no doubt about that. We’d like to see him in the team as quickly as possible.

“It’s a delicate balance between rushing him into the team and the long term. We have to think of that. We want him to play a lot of games for us so we’ll put him in when we think it’s right.”
