Swansea are set to lose a second star player in the space of a week after agreeing to sell Ashley Williams to Everton for £12million.
The Swans have seen Andre Ayew depart to West Ham United in a deal worth £20million and it looks as though Williams will follow him out of the Liberty Stadium exit door.
A deal has yet to be rubberstamped, but the Wales international is expected to travel to Merseyside to complete the move and sign a two-year deal.
The Toffees wasted little time in strengthening their central defence following the departure of John Stones, who completed his move to Manchester City in a £47.5m deal on Tuesday morning.
Everton, who are under new ownership and new management from Ronald Koeman, had a bid of around £10million recently rejected by the Swans earlier in the month, but now the fee has been agreed.
The 31-year old defender, who skippered Wales during their successful Euro 2016 campaign in France, is reported to have said his goodbyes at the club’s training ground on Tuesday morning.
