Who will finish 2017 as Europe’s top scorer?

Edinson Cavani scored his 53rd goal of 2017 in Paris’s 3-1 victory against Caen on Wednesday night to move level with Robert Lewandowski, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in the race to be the top European marksman of this calendar year.

Having played their final games of this calendar year, Cavani and Lewandowski will now be eager onlookers as Messi and Ronaldo attempt to take the crown outright. The pair come face to face in their last chance to find the net in 2017 as Liga leaders Barcelona visit Madrid in Saturday’s Clásico. Tottenham’s Harry Kane, who is three goals back but has two fixtures remaining, could yet overhaul all his rivals.
