Two bottom-half sides meet at the London Stadium on Sunday for West Ham v Southampton.
Slaven Bilic’s side have won just once this season and will be looking to end a three-game losing streak in the Premier League, while Claude Puel’s Saints will be looking to add to their first win [against Swansea] last time out.
The Hammers’ start to the season has been damaged by injury and, for Sunday’s 16:00pm kick-off, the east Londoners will be without a recognised left-back after Arthur Masuaku joined Aaron Cresswell on the sidelines with a knee injury.
Of the new injury to their summer signing, Bilic said: “Masuaku did his knee against Accrington, he damaged ligaments and we will know better in a week but it’s going to be at least six weeks, if not more.
“Some players can play in different positions, and you can fill gaps, but when you have two left-backs who have done the same ligaments it’s not good news. But I’m not looking for excuses. But we have a good team and I expect us to do it on Sunday.”
A loss this weekend could see United slump to the foot of the Premier League table, so it is a big game so early on for the Londoners.
