West Ham have made a £2.5m bid to land Toulouse forward Martin Braithwaite as Slaven Bilic looks to add to his squad for next season.
The 25-year-old impressed for a struggling Toulouse side last season, netting 11 goals as they just managed to beat the drop in the French top flight, and the Hammers have been keeping tabs on him for a while.
His performances have been noted by a number of clubs, with Sunderland, Crystal Palace and Hull all said to be keen, but it is the Hammers who have reportedly made the first move.
Braithwaite is so keen on a move to the Premier League that he is training in England to help secure a switch this summer.
The Black Cats need to up their bid for the striker as Toulouse want £4m for the Denmark international, but that sort of figure is unlikely to put West Ham off a player who can also operate on the wing and would certainly strengthen the squad up front.
