West Ham: Anderlecht star targeted by Moyes

Reports in Belgium claim the Hammers have sounded out a deal for the 22-year-old defensive midfielder, who has been playing in central defence for his club because of injuries.

However, Dendoncker has been told by Anderlecht coach Hein Vanhaezebrouck to stay and focus on playing in the backline as that represents his best chance of getting into the Belgium starting line-up at the World Cup later this year.

Under contract until 2021, Dendoncker had a 38m euros price-tag on his head last summer when Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, came knocking.

Anderlecht may be willing to sell for less than that amount now, but it should still be almost three times as much as the £7million West Ham paid the Brussels club for Cheikhou Kouyate in 2014.
