Jordon Ibe cancelled out Salomon Rondon’s opener as West Brom and Liverpool played out a drab draw at the Hawthorns.
Some inspired play from 17-year-old Jonathan Leko led to the Baggies opening the score on the 13 minute mark. The youngster charged between Joe Allen and Cameron Brannagan before slipping the ball into the path of Salomon Rondon, who fired home at the near post.
Liverpool were not behind for too long as Jordon Ibe restored parity with a fine goal in the 21st minute, running with the ball from inside his own half before lashing home from inside the box.
West Brom pressed hard in the second half for a winner but ultimately to no avail, Rondon hit the woodwork with a glancing effort in the 47th minute and in the 66th minute the forward sliced his a shot from a good position into the side netting but his luck had dried up.
Overall it was a pretty monotonous affair with neither side having anything to play for.
