Barcelona have held talks with Sevilla about a move for striker Paco Alcacer, which could cool their pursuit of West Brom’s Salomon Rondon.
The Baggies striker has been linked with a shock move to the Nou Camp with manager Luis Enrique still desperate to land a striker to provide cover for their three main forwards Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar.
However, according to Sport, it is a move for Valencia ace Alcacer which could be furthest down the line after high-level talks took place regarding a deal for the 22-year-old.
It is claimed that Valencia owner Peter Lim and president Lay Hoon had dinner in Barcelona with executives from the Catalan club to discuss the switch.
It has been reported that the talks were positive and the two clubs appear to be nearing an agreement for the striker, which could involve a Barca player heading in the opposite direction on loan.
And it has been suggested that once a move for Alcacer is tied up, Enrique will be happy with his front line and will turn his attention to reinforcing in other areas – not signing Rondon.
