Arsene Wenger says he has no concerns about Alexis Sanchez’s form and feels he will produce his best against Barcelona on Tuesday.
The Chile international has struggled to match the high standards he has set for himself in his 18 months at the Emirates Stadium since returning in January from a six-week lay-off with a hamstring injury.
Sanchez has scored once in his six appearances following his comeback, while he failed to make an impact when coming off the bench in Saturday’s FA Cup fifth-round tie against Hull City.
Despite his recent dip in form, Wenger is expecting his star forward to produce the goods against his old club Barcelona when he lines up against the Spanish champions in Tuesday’s first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.
“I don’t think he was completely ready to come on. It looked like that but he grows with the game does Sanchez,” Wenger told The Mirror.
“He has a game based on risk and when he’s completely tuned in, it becomes dangerous. Don’t worry about Tuesday, he will be tuned in.”
