Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes “seven or eight” teams, including the Gunners, can win the Premier League this season.
Arsenal will hope to compete for the title again this term, after falling short last season despite being top of the table at the turn of the year.
Claudio Ranieri’s Foxes overcame all the odds to sensationally be crowned champions and Wenger admits their remarkable achievement has opened the door for other clubs to potentially challenge.
He told Sky Sports: “It’s a very exciting season and it promises to be a very different one as well because there are so many ambitions out there.
“That means a lot of ambitions come with that and the expectation level everywhere is very high. Maybe the Premier League is more even than ever.
“Today you have to take into account seven or eight teams who can win it. You always have one surprising team and then six or seven big clubs who the ambition to win it.”
Arsenal, who begin their campaign at home to Liverpool on Sunday, have not won the title since 2004 but will hope to go one better than last season’s second-place finish in 2016-17.
