In a statement, issued on his Facebook page yesterday and accompanied by a video of a billowing Argentinian flag, he wrote: “Those Islands in the Atlantic that bring us all these memories remain inexorably ours. They are waiting for us with a continental patience.
“We’ll be back. We’ll do it by following the path that today leads to the nations of the world.
“We’ll be back using the strength of dialogue, the strength of the truth and the full force of the justice system.”
Earlier on Saturday Labour accused the Government of bungling incompetence over its management of the defence of the Falklands, whose 3,000 inhabitants overwhelmingly wish to remain British.
