Sunderland were held to a 2-2 draw at Vicarage Road as a second half Troy Deeney penalty salvaged a point for Watford.
Sunderland opened the scoring with Jack Rodwell in the 39th minute. His low shot from the edge of the six yard box left Hereulho Gomes with no chance.
The second half saw a glut of goals, the first coming from Sebastian Prodl in the 48th minute. He rose well to get a powerful header off at goal following a god corner from Audlene Guadiaro.
A fast break in the 51st minute saw Sunderland regain the lead with Jeremain Lens scoring from inside the box after nice play from Duncan Watmore.
A foul by John OÂ’Shea in the penalty area gave Deeney the chance to level things up again from the penalty spot in the 61st minute, which he did with much aplomb, finding the bottom left corner.
Overall you would be hard pressed to find someone who would disagree with the overall scoreline.
