Serbia beat Cyprus on Wednesday afternoon, and to the joy of Southampton and Newcastle, the victory was down to a player from either club.
In the 2-1 victory, Magpies striker Aleksandar Mitrovic grabbed the opening goal, before Dusan Tadic secured the win with the second strike. The Southampton playmaker also registered the assist for the opening goal in what was an excellent individual performance.
Unfortunately for the duo, they will not be playing at the European Championship this summer, as Serbia failed to reach the finals tournament after a shocking qualifying campaign.
