WATCH: Chelsea legend Frank Lampard is jeered on first New York City appearance of the season

Frank Lampard was jeered by his own fans when he came on as a second-half substitute in the New York derby.

New York City were hammered 7-0 by local rivals Red Bulls and the Chelsea legend replaced Andrea Pirlo on 74 minutes.

It was his first appearance of the season and fans voiced their displeasure with the 37-year-old after limited game time since his arrival.

The ex-England midfielder has been out of action since March with a calf injury and he was booed once again when his name was shown on screen.
