Victor Wanyama made his Tottenham debut as his new side recorded a 3-0 friendly success over Nottingham Forest.
The Kenyan international moved to White Hart Lane on a five-year deal from Southampton for a reported £11million fee last month and he played alongside Ryan Mason at the heart of the Spurs midfield as they defeated their Championship opponents comfortably in their first pre-season outing on Saturday.
Goals from Heung-min Son, Tom Carroll and Alex Pritchard handed the North London club the victory, as coach Mauricio Pochettino fielded a mixture of academy and first-team players during the behind-closed-doors game at Hotspur Way.
Spurs finished third in the Premier League last season and they will face prestigious friendly matches against Juventus and Atletico Madrid during their pre-season tour of Australia later this month, before they take on Inter Milan in Oslo on August 5.
Former Celtic ace Wanyama is Tottenham’s only signing of the summer to date, with the club’s opening match of the new Premier League season against Everton set to take place at Goodison Park on August 13.
