Victor Wanyama has flown back to England to finalise a £13.5 million move from Southampton to Tottenham.
The Kenya international has returned to London from Nairobi to undergo a medical before the deal to take him to White Hart Lane is confirmed.
Southampton have decided to reluctantly let Wanyama go after numerous attempts to get the 24-year-old to sign a new contract were unsuccessful.
The midfielder will become the first player ex-Saints boss Mauricio Pochettino has been able to lure away from St Mary’s and Spurs’ first signing of the summer transfer window.
He could be unveiled at White Hart Lane early this week where he will compete with first-choice centre-midfield pairing Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele.
Saints will step up their efforts to sign a replacement this summer with a number of foreign-based targets high on their list of options.
