Walters was set to figure in the games against Switzerland and Slovakia during the international break, but will now return to the Potteries to undergo treatment on the problem.

Walters scored and laid on an assist in Stoke’s 2-1 win at Watford but appears to have picked up the injury in the process and manager Mark Hughes will be praying it is nothing serious.

Swansea are the visitors to the Britannia Stadium on April 2 and Walters now faces a race against time to get fit for the clash against Francesco Guidloin’s side.
