Middlesbrough are reported to be weighing up a move for Stoke striker Jonathan Walters after winning promotion to the Premier League.
Boro are back in the top flight following a lengthy absence and plans are already afoot to build a squad capable of staying there, with Walters reported to be a top target.
It looked at one point as though the Republic of Ireland international would be heading for the exit door as talks over a new deal at the Britannia Stadium stalled.
However he recently pledged his future by penning a two-year deal and it remains to be seen whether Boro will be able to lure him away with a bid in the region of £2.5million.
Much will depend on who Stoke boss Mark Hughes brings in during the summer, and cashing on Walters to make way for new blood cannot be completely ruled out.
