Jonathan Walters is making good progress from knee surgery and hopes to return when Stoke take on Sunderland next week.
The striker has been on the sidelines for the past three weeks after undergoing a minor operation to clear up some knee trouble, but there is now light at the end of the tunnel.
This weekend’s game against Manchester City has come to soon for the Republic of Ireland international, but all being well he hopes to face the Black Cats on April 30.
“I am getting there now, thankfully,” Walters told the club’s website. “It has been three weeks now since the operation and I am making progress, so hopefully early next week I will be able to join in full training with the rest of the group.
“If all of that goes to plan, as it has done since I had the operation, then all being well I will be available for the game with Sunderland.”
