Tottenham full-back Kyle Walker believes the club’s current squad is ‘fantastic’ as they have cover in every position.
Spurs have added the likes of Moussa Sissoko, Victor Wanyama and Vincent Janssen to their squad during the off-season as they bid to build on their third-place finish in the Premier League last season.
The Lilywhites have made an impressive start to the current campaign and are unbeaten in their opening four top-flight matches, including a 4-0 success at Stoke City last weekend.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men did suffer a 2-1 defeat against Monaco in the Champions League during the week but England international Walker believes the club is in good shape.
“If you look at the squad now, it’s fantastic. It’s very healthy with cover in all positions,” Walker said. “It’s something that keeps us on our toes because there’s always people snapping at your ankles who want to get your shirt if you’re in the starting XI.”
Spurs mounted a serious challenge for league glory last season before ultimately missing out and Walker remains hopeful that his side can do better this term.
He added: “You never know what can happen in a Premier League season as what happened with last season. Hopefully we can be there or thereabouts at the end.”
