Hull could face a battle to keep Abel Hernandez following reports Aston Villa are ready to launch a £14million bid.
The Tigers are facing a race against time to draft in the raft of new players they need before the transfer window closes, but they could also have to fight off interest in Hernandez.
Villa have been heavily linked with a move for Hernandez and it has now been suggested they will follow up their interest by launching a bid for the Uruguayan star.
However, £14million may not be enough and Villa could have to raise it to £17million to have any chance of doing a deal.
Despite being in the Championship, Hernandez has no reservations about dropping out of the Premier League if it means joining a club the size of Villa.
Hull would have to move quickly to land a replacement, and are reported to have already lined up a £10million swoop for Bristol City striker Jonathan Kodjia.
