Aston Villa boss Remi Garde acknowledged his rock-bottom team have far too many problems after a fifth straight loss against Spurs.
Villa are nine points from safety with eight games to go after a 2-0 defeat at home on Sunday.
Despite a number of late chances, the best falling to Rudy Gestede whose effort smashed against the crossbar from close range and Joleon Lescott who screwed wide from two yards, Garde’s side were well beaten and look destined for the drop.
The Frenchman admits there are problems all over the pitch for his side.
“We don’t have not enough consistency in our efforts,” he said. “Football is about a lot of stuff – mentality, fitness, strategy, a lot of things. We have to improve in a lot of areas.
“This defeat is again hard to take, like every defeat. We conceded two goals at the worst possible time and that was down to a lack of communication and experience.”
