Siegrist made his Wycombe debut on Saturday in a 1-0 defeat to Accrington Stanley, and Chairboys boss Gareth Ainsworth has now admitted he would like to complete a permanent deal in the summer.

“I think he was outstanding and we have got a potential gem in Benjamin Siegrist now,” he is quoted as saying by the Birmingham Mail.

“It is all about this club and whether we can get players like that. I will be working hard in the summer [to do that].

“Benji has been here for seven or eight weeks and hasnÂ’t played a game.

“Saturday was a chance to look at a keeper who I think is good enough to play in League Two and I was very impressed with what I saw.”

If Wycombe do make a concrete offer for the Swiss keeper Villa are unlikely to stand in his way, as the 24-year-old is yet to make an appearance for the club since joining as a youngster in 2009.
