Aston Villa will go into their daunting trip to Manchester City on Saturday with no new injury or suspension worries.
Villa boss Remi Garde is still missing the likes of Carlos Sanchez, Jack Grealish, Libor Kozak, Adama Traore and Jordan Amavi because of respective hamstring, ankle, ankle, foot and knee problems.
However, striker Rudy Gestede could start at the Etihad Stadium after coming off the bench to score in Tuesday’s 3-1 home defeat to Everton but Charles N’Zogbia remains out of Garde’s plans despite being fit.
The Frenchman has looked back to his first game as Villa boss for encouragement, a 0-0 home draw with City in November, while he feels his philosophy is starting to get through to the players.
He said: “When you’re bottom of the league you don’t enjoy being bottom of the league. I’m getting my training methods across.
“We have 10 games to go. This is not the time to solely focus on fitness. I have to adapt knowing that we need to win games.
“Hopefully we will prove once again, as we did in the home game against City that football doesn’t always go as predicted.”
Villa sit bottom of the Premier League with 16 points from 28 game and are eight points adrift of safety ahead of the City trip.
