Gabby Agbonlahor will face no further action from Aston Villa after the club carried out an investigation into his conduct on holiday.
Agbonlahor was pictured apparently smoking a shisha pipe while on a break in Dubai and the 29-year-old academy product was not considered for Saturday’s match against Chelsea as the club carried out an investigation.
Club captain Agbonlahor was pictured with Micah Richards, but the defender was involved in the 4-0 loss to the Blues.
However, Villa tweeted on Tuesday: “Aston Villa Football Club has completed its investigation into Gabby Agbonlahor’s trip to Dubai over the international break. The Club will be taking no further action.”
The striker returned to training with Villa on Monday and after being cleared he could now be involved in the squad for the next match against Bournemouth on Saturday.
Agbonlahor is Villa’s longest-serving current player, although he has only made 15 Barclays Premier League appearances for the bottom club this season.
He signed a four-year contract in 2014 but has scored just once this season.
