Is Falcao back to his best?
The former Manchester United and Chelsea loanee scored another goal in pre-season on Tuesday, in Monaco’s 3-1 defeat to Russian side Zenit.
The 30-year-old, who concedes his time in England was ‘difficult’, has been on form ahead of the new campaign, following up his weekend brace with a header on Tuesday.
It may not be the most glamorous of goals, but it is a sign the Columbian may well be back after a frustrating couple of seasons which followed a nasty injury which ruled him out of the World Cup in 2014.
After the friendly, he told the Ligue 1 club’s website: “My experience in England was difficult but it served me well as a footballer and as a person.
“I hope what I’ve learned will serve me now, here in Monaco. I’m very happy to be back in Monaco to play.
“It’s interesting to see how the team progresses game after game. The sensations are good, I feel good. The only thing I need is to accumulate games and playing time. With the games, my body will quickly adapt to the rhythm of the competition.”
