Manchester United could get a chance to sign Raphael Varane this summer with Real Madrid reportedly open to offers for the Frenchman.
Spanish newspaper El Confidencial claim Varane’s name is on a list of players that Real have put up for sale after winning their 11th European Cup last season.
The 23-year-old, who missed Euro 2016 through injury, was relegated to a back-up last season as coach Zinedine Zidane preferred Pepe and Sergio Ramos as his first-choice centre-backs.
United were interested in Varane as a teenager but Zidane’s intervention took him to Real Madrid instead – where he was coached by Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho.
The Portuguese is thought to be keen on signing Varane to play alongside new-boy Eric Bailly – but El Confidencial also link United to striker Alvaro Morata.
Real have just re-signed the Spain international from Juventus using their buy-back clause but are expected to sell him on this summer at a profit.
