Stoke are among the clubs tracking Fenerbahce striker Robin van Persie, but the Dutchman will have to take a huge pay cut.
Potters boss Mark Hughes has already confirmed bids have gone in for West Brom striker Saido Berahino, but he is checking out other options as well, and Van Persie is one of them.
The Turkish club are keen to get the Dutchman’s reported £240,000-a-week wages off the books and will cash in if someone comes in and matches their £4million valuation.
Crystal Palace are also interested and would be in the box seat to do a deal as the player is keen to live in London, but they will also be unwilling to match such wages.
The same can also be said of Southampton and West Ham, who are reported to be the other interested parties.
The former Manchester United and Arsenal star would jump at the chance to return to the Premier League but he will have lower his demands by a considerable amount to have a chance.
