Paul Pogba is set to make his second Manchester United debut and Henrikh Mkhitaryan could start against Southampton on Friday night.
Pogba is expected to make his first appearance since his world-record transfer back to Old Trafford from Juventus, despite only training for 11 days.
Mourinho is confident Pogba is fit enough to feature, even if the Portuguese doubts he will be able to complete 90 minutes.
The United boss, who will be making his own competitive home debut in the dugout, confirmed that Jesse Lingard is free of injury while Chris Smalling returns from suspension.
Mkhitaryan, who saw 15 minutes of action as a substitute in United’s 3-1 opening weekend win at Bournemouth, could get the nod to start.
