Marcos Rojo and Morgan Schneiderlin are still not fit to return for Manchester United’s rearranged home clash against Bournemouth.
Argentinian defender Rojo was ruled out of Sunday’s final Premier League game of the season, which was abandoned due to the discovery of a suspect package in the North-West Quadrant of Old Trafford, after suffering an injury in training on Saturday.
French midfielder Schneiderlin was also missing as he was trying to shake off a bout of illness and it seems he has not recovered sufficiently to be involved in Tuesday’s new date, with United currently priced at 4/7 with Titanbet to finish their Premier League campaign with a win.
Red Devils’ boss Louis van Gaal will now be hoping the pair can get fit in time for Saturday’s FA Cup final against Crystal Palace at Wembley.
Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Michael Carrick were named in the side to replace the duo against the Cherries and should stay in the XI, while Jesse Lingard was preferred ahead of Ander Herrera who was dropped to the bench.
Ashley Young was named on the bench for the match following his return to training and should again feature in the squad.
However left-back Luke Shaw and midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger are both still out and will also miss the FA Cup final, although the latter has been included in Germany’s provisional squad for Euro 2016 on Tuesday afternoon.
United know at least a point will take them back above Southampton and into a final position of fifth spot, while they would have to win 19-0 to overhaul rivals Manchester City for a top-four finish and Champions League qualification.
