Manchester United have been linked with 19-year-old Brazil forward Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa but he seems destined for Serie A.
United have been linked with the Santos forward but his current club have confirmed they are yet to activate a clause in his contract that will allow him to move.
However, Serie A pair Juventus and Inter Milan have both submitted what Santos president Modesto Roma describes as “real offers”.
The Old Trafford side will have to move quickly to sign the Brazilian but with reports indicating boss Jose Mourinho has been told by the club he has to sell before he can buy it seems as if the Premier League outfit will miss out on Gabriel.
Roma told Radio Globo: “The only real offers come from Juventus and Inter.
“Now it depends on Gabriel. Santos don’t have to accept or refuse, the clauses for a move are in his contract and the club will respect them.”
Gabriel has been described as the ‘next Neymar’ by some sections of the media and was a member of the gold medal winning Brazil Olympic 2016 squad, while he has also managed two goals in four outings for the senior Brazil side.
