Manchester United have been linked with a move for Monaco’s Fabinho but they face competition for the Brazil international.
Fabinho only joined Monaco on a permanent basis last summer after a successful loan stint but Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed he could be on the move again this year.
Fabinho is under contract until 2019 but Monaco would find a big-money offer from Old Trafford hard to resist, although United will face competition as Barcelona and Serie A side Napoli have also been credited with an interest.
United boss Jose Mourinho could step up his pursuit of the 22-year-old in the coming days following Brazil’s early Copa America Centario exit.
Fabinho was a member of the Brazil squad but he was an unused substitute in all three of their group games, against Ecuador, Haiti and Peru.
The Selecao were knocked out in the group stages of the competition after a 1-0 defeat to Peru on Sunday.
