Villarreal will not stand in the way of Eric Bailly’s move to Manchester United as reports claim the two clubs have now agreed a deal.
United are understood to have agreed a fee of £27.6m for the Ivory Coast centre-back as new manager Jose Mourinho bids to beef up the Reds’ rearguard.
Bailly, 22, impressed last season as Villarreal finished in fourth place in La Liga and reached the semi-finals of the Europa League.
And the Spanish minnows are ready to make a huge profit on a player they snapped up from Espanyol for under £6million just 18 months ago.
Villarreal official Fernando Roig Negueroles says the Yellow Submarines are not looking to block the deal.
He told Marca: “There is a team that is very interested and if the three parties agree there will be no problems. If the player wants to leave and Manchester want to pay, we will reach an agreement.”
