Jose Mourinho and his staff are facing further upheaval as pitch improvements continue to be made to United’s Carrington training base.
The Old Trafford chief has cut a frustrated figure at the time it is taking to install two new surfaces.
The Red Devils began work on the pitches for the Under-23 and Academy teams during the summer.
United hoped the works would be finished by late November but insiders state it will now carry on into the new year.
Mourinho is already understood to be “irked” by the amount of workers and machinery that are on the site on a daily basis.
United have spent £3m in the last two years installing two state-of-the-art Desso pitches for the first-team squad.
This latest investment, however, is part of the club’s wider drive to improve the facilities for their younger players following a 12-month review.
