Tottenham’s England trio Harry Kane, Eric Dier and Dele Alli know there is work to be done despite a last-minute win over Slovakia
Sam Allardyce’s reign as England boss started with victory after Adam Lallana spared England’s embarrassment with an injury-time strike in their opening World Cup qualifier in Slovakia.
England largely struggled though despite the fact that Slovakia had been reduced to 10 men following Martin Skrtel’s deserved sending off for a foul on Harry Kane, but the Spurs trio were pleased with the win.
Kane said: “We were all disappointed with the Euro’s so we wanted to get out there and get a win and we did that so hopefully we can push on.”
Eric Dier said: “There is a long way to go before we heal the scars of the Euro’s for the fans and for ourselves as well as we were the most unhappy with everything.”
Alli said: “We dominated the game and deserved the victory.”
