Arsene Wenger admits Arsenal will have to spend big money to keep Mesut Ozil. Wenger voiced some doubt for the first time in Arsenal’s battle to tie down Ozil to a new contract as his current £140,000-a-week deal expires in 2018. But Wenger also warned that it is not just about money and that the German World Cup winner is determined to win major trophies. Arsenal have not won the Premier League title since 2004 and Ozil wants a new contract in excess of £200,000-a-week which leaves Wenger facing a major battle to keep him. (Daily Mirror)

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has refused to rule out move away from Arsenal, admitting: ‘I’m not happy when I’m not playing’. The former Southampton midfielder has made just 52 Premier League starts since joining the Gunners in 2011, scoring eight goals. (Daily Mail)

Jose Mourinho is interested in bringing Everton’s Seamus Coleman to Manchester United in the January window, as he seeks to solve the club’s problem right-back area. (Irish Independent)

Juventus will offer defender Leonardo Bonucci a new deal in a bid to fend off interest from Chelsea . The Italian is a target for the Stamford Bridge club but could cost as much as £50million after an impressive showing at Euro 2016. Bonucci has four years left on his contract with the Turin club having extended it last summer but Juventus want to tie him down to a longer contract. Liverpool are interested in a January move for Hoffenheim’s £9m-rated defender Fabian Schar. Jurgen Klopp is keen on the 24-year-old but faces a tough task to convince Hoffenheim to sell their star when the transfer window reopens. (Daily Star)

Sadio Mane insists it was his decision to stay at Southampton when Manchester United bid £25million for him in the summer of 2015. He was a prime target for then-Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal but opted to reject their interest before going on to join Liverpool this summer for £30million. (Daily Mail)
