Chelsea are trying to beat Liverpool to land £35million World Cup winner Mario Gotze after a tip-off from ex-boss Carlo Ancelotti. Incoming Bayern Munich boss Ancelotti alerted his old club weeks ago that German star Gotze was not in his plans for next season. (The Sun)

Manchester United are in talks to sign two world stars. Discussions are underway with representatives for both Raphael Varane and Joao Mario. United big wigs have sat down to try and thrash out a £30m move for Varane while they are also closing in on a £45m switch for Portugal international Mario. (Daily Star)

Arsene Wenger is ready to make Mesut Ozil Arsenal’s first £200,000-a-week player. Gunners boss Wenger is confident Germany World Cup star Ozil will sign a new deal this summer, which would be a huge boost for the club. (Daily Mirror)

Borussia Mönchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl has revealed Arsenal are still yet to make an offer for Granit Xhaka. (Daily Express)

Marseille have sparked a scramble from English clubs by confirming £31million striker Michy Batshuayi will leave the club this summer. West Ham and Tottenham have both confirmed that they want the talented 22-year-old, who has scored 21 goals in all competition this season. Liverpool and Arsenal are also interested. (Daily Mirror)

Teenage sensation Kelechi Iheanacho wants a new deal worth £150,000-a-week from Manchester City. The striker’s advisers believe he has earned parity – at least – with team-mate Raheem Sterling, on the basis that Iheanacho’s emergence has saved the Blues from having to spend big on a new young frontman this summer. Nathan Redmond is certain to leave relegated Norwich this summer and the Canaries could receive just £8million. Norwich have previously valued Redmond, 22, at £15m but he now has just one year left on his contract meaning his price-tag will almost half.
