Manchester United are plotting a sensational swoop for Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The 34-year-old will be a free agent in June after failing to agree a new deal with Paris Saint-Germain. He is keen to end his career in the Premier League and it is understood United are willing to offer him a short-term deal worth £24m. (Daily Star)

Felipe Anderson has confirmed that Lazio turned down a bid from Manchester United for his services last summer but the Brazilian insisted his focus is not on a possible switch away from his current club. (Daily Mail)

Manchester City could push to make Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte one of their first signings under new manager Pep Guardiola. Guardiola is an admirer of the France Under-21 international, with reports in Spain suggesting City have agreed to meet the £39.6m release clause in the player’s contract. (Daily Telegraph)

Everton and Stoke have joined the £10million chase for Leeds whizkid Lewis Cook. The York-born midfielder, 19, has impressed in the Championship, scoring twice this season for Steve Evans’ side.
