Transfer report: Real Madrid starlet Martin Odegaard set for Rennes switch despite Liverpool and West Ham interest
West Ham and Liverpool look set to miss out on Real Madrid wonderkid Martin Odegaard, who is nearing a switch to Stade Rennais.
Both Premier League clubs were reportedly keen on a loan move for the 17-year-old Norwegian, who has been hailed as a star of the future.
Odegaard arrived at the Bernabeu in January 2015 but he has so far appeared just once for the first team – and now they want him to gain some experience out on loan.
However, it does not appear as though he will be headed for English football, with AS reporting that Stade Rennais are on the verge of completing a deal for him.
The French club, who are managed by Christian Gourcuff, finished eighth in Ligue 1 last term and are ready to give Odegaard regular senior action.
