Chelsea are ready to offer £50million plus Cesc Fabergas for Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci, according to reports in Italy.
Manchester City were keen on Bonucci in the summer and, despite landing John Stones, Pep Guardiola continues to covet the Italy international.
However, Chelsea are desperate to land the centre-back and, according to Tuttosport, will offer Juve a stunning package in order to win the race.
Blues owner Roman Abramovich is said to be ready to sanction a £50m bid and will offer World Cup-winning midfielder Fabergas as part of the deal.
In response to the impending interest in Bonucci, Juve are set to offer the centre-back a new deal worth £4.1m-per-season.
This could yet persuade the Italian to remain in Turin for at least another year, but Chelsea and City will not give up hope of landing Bonucci as early as the January window.
