Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi will be one of Antonio Conte’s first targets should he take over at Chelsea this summer.
The Italian is expected to land the job as Blues boss and replace Guus Hiddink at the end of the season – and reports have suggested he is already drawing up a transfer hit list.
Sources in France have now revealed that he will be hoping to make PSG’s all-action midfielder Matuidi a Chelsea player during the transfer window.
The 28-year-old has been linked with a move to England in the past, although it has been Arsenal who have been credited with the strongest interest.
However, now it is Chelsea who are said to be in the driving seat to land him this summer as Conte will be desperate to make his mark on the squad straight away.
But PSG do not want to sell the Frenchman so the west London club know he will not come cheap.
