Chelsea loanee Alexandre Pato has emerged as a shock transfer target for Barcelona.
According to reports in Spain, manager Luis Enrique is hoping to land a new forward this summer to help support the free-scoring triumvirate of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar.
Celta Vigo forward Nolito, the Arsenal target, was said to be top of Enrique’s wish list but he failed to re-sign the former Barca man during January.
And now El Mundo Deportivo have claimed that the Nou Camp club may turn to Pato if their initial striker hunt proves fruitless when the transfer window opens.
The Brazilian arrived at Stamford Bridge on a loan deal from Corinthians in January but he is yet to make his debut for Chelsea.
The West London club can sign him permanently for £9m this summer and could do that in order to make a quick profit by flogging him to Barca.
However, the La Liga giants are unlikely to pay that much unless he can make an impact at Chelsea in the final two months of the season.
