Transfer news: Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal stars all included in top 20 most valuable players in the world

The transfer window opens in exactly one month and transfer values of players are being assessed by managers and chief executives looking to land their summer targets.

But how do you come up with the value of a particular player?

CEIS Football Observatory have released the latest valuations of the top 20 players in the world using an algorithm based on a number of factors including age.

The algorithm has had close to an 80 per cent accuracy rate for transfers since 2013 in the transfer fees paid by clubs in the top five leagues.

According to the latest report, only three players are valued at over £100m, while seven of the top 20 are from the Premier League.
