Pepe Reina has reacted angrily to rumours that he is in line to join Barcelona – with the future of Manchester City target Claudio Bravo still unclear.
The former Liverpool favourite is now at Napoli and reports have suggested that he could be Barca-bound as a potential replacement for Bravo.
Indeed it was even claimed that Reina, who joined the Italian club last summer, had put himself forward to Barca as an option because he is keen to return to the club he left in 2002.
The 33-year-old has strong links with the club as his father also played in goal for them while Reina came through the ranks at La Masia and made 30 league appearances for them.
However, he took to Twitter to emphatically deny reports that he is on his way back and is instead concentrating on the weekend’s game at Pescara.
He wrote: “Bullshit!! I’ve offered myself nowhere!! Enough lies.. Forza Napoli forever!! Now let’s get ready for Sunday! Clear?”
